The Filmmakers section of the site will be a spot where I’ll be posting the most complete and accurate filmographies I can assemble for a large number of experimental filmmakers. This is the kind of info I feel like a lot of folks are looking for (but which is mostly totally absent out in the world) and we all end up relying on incomplete or inconsistent data from out-of-date books or distributor catalogs. So I’m hoping this section of the site will be a useful reference for folks needing filmographic info, and plan to keep updating it regularly.
I added the first batch of six filmmaker filmographies based on data I’ve collected in my work on these artists’ films. I may still play around with the formatting, and eventually would love to add descriptive texts for each film, but I’m pretty happy with the results so far. Not sure if extensive pictures will be a possibility, not just because they may be hard to wrangle for many of the films, but also it may just eat up all of my site data allotment!
Also, I’d love to keep expanding this site beyond filmmakers I work with or have the info on myself. If you’re an archivist or curator who’s also assembled this kind of definitive data for various filmmakers, I’d love to hear from you and would be happy to include your data here with credit, of course!
