ECLIPSE PREDICTIONS (1982)
16mm, color, sound, 3.5m
There are two different soundtracks for this film. The first soundtrack consisted only of Diana Wilson’s rapidly delivered monologue. This was later replaced by a more elaborate mix in which the monologue is partly drowned out by music. Upon the film’s preservation in 2010, Wilson preferred the original, unadorned track, and so the original track should be considered as preferred.

MADAME MAO’S LOST LOVE LETTERS (1983) (w/ Tom Leeser)
35mm/video, color, sound, 3m
In this collaborative piece, the images were produced by Tom Leeser and the sound by Diana Wilson. The film was completely created in 35mm on an optical printer, but only shown as a video work for many years until its film-to-film restoration in 2012.

COMMERCIAL WORK

Diana had a short period doing effects animation work on commercial films, and was on the rotoscope animation team for Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Modern Problems. She also did some animation work for Pat O’Neill on his film Water and Power.

With her husband David Wilson, Diana Wilson also co-created a number of short commercial pieces between roughly 1972 and 1974. These were primarily small 16mm animated pieces made for (mostly) Colorado businesses and organizations. Some of these works include a spot for a jeweler, and various films for the Chamber of Commerce of Western Colorado.

PERKY PILL AND PALS (1974): This is a film made to teach children how to take medicine properly, commissioned by the Louisiana Pediatric Pulmonary Center
